Bettors Wish

It’s not often a horse that had not won his elimination race is favoured in a championship final, let alone the North American Cup, but that could happen Saturday night when the high-powered De Los Cielos Deo heads behind the gate from post position #2 for David Miller in the $1.000,000 N A Cup , the major test of the season in Canada for three year old pacers. De Los Cielos Deo flew home in his elimination race last Saturday an eye-popping last quarter in 25 flat chasing home eventual winner Bettors Wish in 1:49 but coming from last at the three quarters marker. Elimination winner Bettors Wish (Dexter Dunn) selected post position #3 for Saturday night’s big attraction while the other elimination winner Workin Ona Mystery (Tim Tetrick) grabbed post position #4 in the ten horse field.

De Los Cielos Deo is a son of Captaintreacherous who created a lot of attention when he qualified at the Meadowlands two weeks ago in 1:48:4 with plenty to spare. Trained by Ron Burke, this colt although winless in four 2019 starts could break through in a big way on Saturday night. Workin Ona Mystery is also a Captaintreacherous colt while Bettors Wish is a son of Bettors Delight. Captain Crunch the heavy favorite in last Saturday’s elimination race made a break in his elim and is saddled with post position eight. He is also a son of Captaintreacherous and he could be a major factor on Saturday night.
