January is here and the colder temperatures have quickly moved in. Even on the colder days, the babies all seem to be going along very nicely in Truro. The two Shadow Play colts are going very well for Dad (Emmons MacKay). We have one big tall colt and a smaller stocky colt who are both developing nicely and looking good so far. Bruce McGean has been out prepping his babies early every morning as well. Jamie Ramsay acquired a new aged pacer from Janet Stevenson (sister to Mike Stevenson). So, Jamie Ramsay is all excited about his new purchase – you know the old saying, “Out with the old & in with the new.” Jamie says, “Look out, this one can leave.” He can’t wait until live racing resumes this year in April of 2019. Best of luck with your babies & your new ones - stay warm!

Kaye Stevenson’s Passing - Condolences

The recent & sudden passing of Kaye Stevenson has deeply affected the harness racing industry by all who knew this lovely, personable, and respected lady. Kaye was well-known for her generosity and kind spirit. The New Brunswick folks will surely miss seeing Kaye every live race card, as it was known that she treated numerous people over the years with her special homemade treats at the races. Her best friend, Linda Hughes, will surely miss her dear friend and travelling companion. Kaye always made her trip to PEI for every Old Home Week and it will surely be different not seeing her with Linda this year. To Bettina, Bobby, Kate, Alex, Linda Hughes, their families and many friends, our sincere condolences go out to you at this very difficult time. Another one gone too soon. RIP Kaye.

Quote of the Week:
