About Harbourview Restaurant
Dawn Keith and Darlene Burke are sisters, originally from Cape Breton, who chose Prince Edward Island as their forever home. We both worked as waitresses at Brehaut’s Restaurant for many years and dreamed about having our own restaurant for years. When the Brehauts retired, we decided to take over the restaurant, modified existing recipes and added local seafood to the menu. Our seafood chowder has won the eastern PEI Chowder Trail competition four years in a row, and the first annual island wide Mighty Chowder Trail competition in 2019.
We renamed the restaurant Harbourview in keeping with it’s location and opened the doors. We encountered some steep learning curves during our first couple of years, but managed to survive and now have a wonderful cohesive team. Due to Covid 19, we brought back the Take Out window and concentrated on sprucing up the lawn area. We’ve brought in several picnic tables and are offering full service on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting), as we are unable to open our dining room due to social distancing requirements. We have extended our liquor license to include the picnic tables (with the purchase of a meal).
Hopefully next season our customers will be able to come inside and enjoy our newly air-conditioned dining rooms. Until then, we’ll continue to come out to you, doing our best to provide you with the same great service and food that you’ve come to expect.
