Annie Vanden Broek receives Legion award

Annie Vanden Broek of Cardigan accepts a certificate of merit from Grace Blackette of the Royal Canadian Legion Cardigan Branch. The certificate recognizes Ms Vanden Broek for her book ‘When the Green Letter Comes Over’. The book is a collection of Ms Vanden Broek’s diary entries from when she lived in Holland during the Second World War under Nazi occupation. Also in the photo is her son George. Mrs Vanden Broek also shares a story from wartime Holland this week's issue on page 9 of The Eastern Graphic
