Caledonia Car Crash

The identity of three people, all from eastern PEI, who died at the scene of a two vehicle crash on Thanksgiving Day, Monday, had not been made public prior to press time.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Routes 24 and 315 in Caledonia.

Two females, from the Gaspereaux-Pembroke area, were travelling in one vehicle and the driver of the second vehicle, a loaded dump truck was alone at the time of the crash. The male was from Fortune Bridge.

Murray River and Montague Fire Departments responded along with Kings District RCMP and Island EMS.

The accident happened around 1:45 pm and that section of highway remained closed for about five hours while police conducted their investigation.

The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
