Eastern Express capture AAA provincial crown

The Eastern Express 13U AAAs baseball team recently captured the provincial title. The team is made up of players from Cardigan, Northside and Stratford minor ball associations. They split their home games between Cardigan and Stratford. Eastern finished the regular season with an impressive 15 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties. They were able to play a full season in a condensed time period (two months rather than three) and no tournaments were allowed this year. Four teams made up the league including Summerside, Mid Isle, Capital District and Eastern. The provincial winners would normally advance to the Atlantics, which were scheduled to be played in Newfoundland this year but these were cancelled due to the pandemic. The champions include, back row, Head Coach Quen Johnston, Austin Walker, Aiden Murnaghan, Assistant Coach Derek Lowe, Kayden McGuigan, Callum Thomson, Ethan Lowe, Evan Mabey and Assistant Coach Jeremy MacDonald. Front: Brae Johnston, Hudson Bradley, Drew MacDonald, Declan MacLauchlan, Colin Proud and Alex Curran.
